My Tale

GIVING POUND DOGS HOPE ARE LISTING THIS DOG ON BEHALF OF THE WELLINGTON & HUTT VALLEY POUND – ALL ENQUIRIES TO THE POUND TEAM PLEASE.

Jedi was surrendered through no fault of his own.

He is a lovely, happy boy and just has a typical Labrador
nature. 

He is very friendly when he meets people and we’ve been told he
has lived with children ranging from 5-13years and is great with them. He is
good with other dogs and happily interacts and plays with them. He is not good
with cats and will bark at them – though that could possibly be worked on in
the right home with the right cat?

The previous owner says he has good basic obedience – sit, stay,
wait etc, but that he has ZERO recall. This is obviously something that must be
worked on and until it is consistent, he would be best to be exercised on a
long line.

Jedi will be neutered as part of our adoption process. He is
vaccinated, microchipped and registered. Adoption fees to cover the neuter
apply.

Jedi will need an active, outdoorsy kind of family. It’s not
often we get dogs who are known to be good with children so this is great for
us to know. He needs a home with someone who is committed to working on his
obedience and is physically strong enough to control him as he is quite
headstrong and doesn’t heel at all!

You must have a good sized, fully fenced property suitable to
contain him and a property inspection is required.

He is not available just yet as we
need to spend a bit more time getting to know him before finding the right
match.
