Kowhai came to us from a back yard breeder kowhai lived out side while her mum was on a chain, she came in with her two other sisters who have now found homes. Kowhai had severe ring worm which is now fully cleared. 

Kowhai has a few health problems so she needs a family who can accept this, her lumbar spine is curved to an abnormal amount but it doesn’t cause her pain she just has a slightly curved back. Kowhai also has hip dysplasia in her right back hip, at 2 years old she will need surgery on this this will be covered by saving hope as it’s pre existing. 

Kowhai needs an active loving family preferably with another dog as she’s fostered with four large dogs and loves them. Kids over the age of 12 or an adult family. Kowhai needs to be and inside dog but with a large back yard  preferably lifestyle block for her to run laps in with her buddy. She will need lots of exercise at least two walks a day she loves a good run at the beach. She can sit lay down stay fetch recall is really good and working on loose leash walking. Kowhai is raw fed and her new home will have to stick to this for the rest of her life, if you can’t commit to giving her a raw food diet please don’t apply. 

Kowhai will not eat kibble and she looses a lot of weight when she does, kowhai doesn’t maintain weight very well so raw food is her only option and she loves it. I recommend talking to the raw essentials team to see what it entails before applying for her.
