My Tale

Lily’s story.

Lilly was dumped in the middle of nowhere, pregnant.  The farmer passed her onto the local pound in the Coromandel.

They were going to put her to sleep as he probably has Pitbull in her mix.  Some kind person notified a rescue who then got in touch with us.  We managed to get her out of the pound.

I took her to the vet on the way home as she was in a bad way and had a horrible pussy mark on her back.

When we got her from the pound she was crawling on her stomach, so scared and confused.

Once we got her home she just changed into a beautiful loving girl.  She wags her tail so hard she almost bends in two, lol,

Her pregnancy was okay but we had to rush her to the vets for the last pup to be born.

She had chronic mastitis and was on medication after medication and painkillers, there was only so much we could give her with her feeding her pups.

The mastitis’s got so bad we made the decision to remove her pups at 4 weeks old and hand rear then so we could get Lily treated and back to health.

She is an absolute please to be around.

With her having Pitbull in her mix we had Barbara from Chopper dog training assess her and she got 5 stars.

It has to be a special home.

We want Lily to be the center of attention for a change so we are looking for a home with no small children, as she will probably accidentally knock them over.

We have done lead work with Lily and she is a breeze to walk.

We believe she would be fine with other dogs, we exercise her daily in a pack and she loves to play.

Apologies for the essay, but we believe in passing on all the information we have on our rescues as we never want to set them up to fail in their new home.
