My Tale

This is Percy, the gentle giant. We believe he was born around late 2015/early 2016. We were initially told he was a “foxy cross” but due to his size that might not be the case. He has a very gentle nature, plays well with other dogs and loves children. Percy has also been good with the cats. He thinks he is a lap dog!

We took on this beautiful boy from a lady who said she couldn’t find a rental property. We later discovered he has problems in his two front legs. Percy’s xrays showed he has bilateral elbow dysplasia with acute flare ups. The vet believes he had an injury when he was young and because it was left untreated he now suffers from this. The vet recommended he be referred to Vetsos (vet orthopedic services) for arthroscopy for an operation for elbow dysplasia.

He suffers from osteoporosis arthritis. He is around 3 1/2 years old and because of this, his life expectancy has been shortened to around 6 years whereas if he was healthy he would be looking at around 13-15 years.

He is de-sexed and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Percy would suit a forever family that will give him the best dog life there is in the remaining time he has with us. We will do our part by providing him the best medical care he deserves but we would like a family that would continue to support the ongoing care this beautiful boy needs to make him comfortable, healthy and happy. Despite the pain this boy has gone through in his life, he still stays very happy and trustful of humans. We all just want the very best for him.

Hi. “I’m a 3 1/2 year old dog, not sure what breed I am. I was told that I was a foxy cross but clearly I’m not?. I’ve had an operation on both of my front knees, and I have arthritis in both knees. I have an injection once a month and a tablet for that. I’m friendly and I really love cuddles. I think I’m a lap dog, love playing with my foster sisters , like to go to the park and walk, but when I try to run, my foster mum says no. My foster mum says I have a beautiful personality and a gentle spirit. They call me the gentle giant. I’d love to sit beside you and cuddle up to you. You have to come meet me and see for yourself. I’ll wait for you.
