My Tale

…..dear Ruby is desperately wanting her forever home.

She is not your cutesy cuddly lap cat but still has much to offer her new family/person. She enjoys company but does not like to be picked up or petted. She loves the comforts of home, a bed to curl up on, a window to gaze from and toys to play with.

She may be a little reserved at the Sanctuary, but this does not mean to say that one day she won’t enjoy being petted and fussed over. You often find as soon as they leave the multi-cat living situation their personalities take a whole new turn. Once she bonds to her new home and person and with time and dedication she will be won over.

She has been on the streets for many years and has learned to be wary of people for reasons she can’t tell us. As you can imagine she would have had a tough life trying to survive, and people are not always nice to strays. She would have been constantly pregnant and caring for kittens…..just so sad!

I know given the chance this beautiful lady will continue to blossom once she feels safe, secure, and loved in her new home. Here at the sanctuary, she is a quiet girl, keeps to herself, enjoys window tv, curling up on the bed with her electric blanket, and will play with toys on occasion, generally when the other cats are all sleeping as she really isn’t a team player.

Ruby is best suited to a very quiet household with no young children, and no other pets, someone with lots of time and love to devote to her. If you are living on your own and would love company and have time to give, then Ruby is perfect for you. It would be so rewarding to watch her develop into the affectionate loving lady that she desperately wants to be.
