My Tale

This gorgeous gal is looking for her happily ever after home. Must be a cat free home & preferably no small children.
Best suited in a rural or semi rural home, a place with a large garden & lots of outdoor space where she can chill & enjoy herself & be allowed indoors to be part of the family.

A bit about Tessa:

• desexed & up-to-date with vaccinations, weighs 38kg, DOB 01/07/20.
• has bilateral hip dysplasia but currently not showing any signs of pain or distress & manages well, might limp after a long walk but settles with rest, we can provide medical records. Not on any medication for it, exercise & weight management keep her sorted.Things like not walking up steep hills, lots of steps, & help into the car all help to manage it. With old owners got a walk in the morning & late afternoon, about 2-4km. Her hips don’t stop her walking along the river splashing in the water trying to catch stones, or gentle run arounds with dogs at VinView Pet Lodge. 
• loves to bark at things & she’ll have a conversation with you, she barks at a dog to play, & sometimes if she’s unsure of a situation she’ll bark till you tell her it’s ok. So a home in the suburbs where she’s left alone for long periods will not be suitable.
• would love to be with people who are home most of the day & she can hang out with. Will lay quietly with everyone in the lounge while you watch TV & will come up for a cuddle on the sofa. She sleeps inside at night & will take herself off to bed if feeling tired.
• can take a while to get used to strange people, not so keen on being cuddled until she gets to know you a bit & she’s wary of strange men. 
• loves peanut butter in her kong, pigs ears & pretty much all treats – just NO beef as allergic to it.
• loves playing with her red carry ball & soccer ball, will play with them herself tossing them around the yard. 
• is STRONG & could topple someone over if they are frail – this could happen if she suddenly takes off seeing a cat or a rabbit, owners used to walk her on a body harness or a face halti.

We expect to see Tessa go to a home where she is an inside dog and a big part of the family going on adventures together and getting regular exercise and stimulation, and of course lots of love!

In order to adopt Tessa you will need a safe and secure section with good fencing and either own your own home or have permission from your landlord allowing you to have a dog on the property and in the house.

Adoption fee is $300 and includes desexing (already done), up-to-date vaccinations, worming, fleaing, microchipping, registration on NZCAR, and registration for the 24/25 year with local council.
